Self- doubt, apparently I am not alone.  Reading David duChemin’s Vision Mongers, I found comfort in the interview with vocational photographer Dave Delnea – “I asked Dave about making the transition, if he ever asked himself, “Am I even good enough to do this?” He smiled. “I still do. All the time.”  (page 130)

I start this blog to chronicle my journey from hobbyist to vocational photographer.  I cannot quit my day job right now – I have too many responsibilities, and debt. But I can take big steps toward my future – hindered only by self-doubt. 

For my journey I need to pack:

1.       A plan

2.       Confidence

3.       Humility

4.       Time

5.       Dedication to craft

6.       Desire to learn

Along the way I need to acquire:

1.       A mentor (I have one – sort of)

2.       A more serious mentor

3.       Marketing skills

4.       More Confidence

5.       More Experience

My tools include:

1.       The above mentioned Vision Mongers

2.       Scott Bourne and Skip Cohen’s Going Pro and their blog by the same name

3.       The inspiration of others through their websites and blogs that I will highlight as I go.
